Project Summary: Social workers need to effectively manage the termination process and transition clients to appropriate support services. Select a character from the list of provided case scenarios: Case Scenarios: 1. Arthur - You have been working with Arthur in addressing his depression social anxiety and the medical disorder that causes him to laugh at inappropriate times. He is on medication for these issues but still struggles with his impulse control and laughing. Arthur lacks social skills and struggles with loneliness. He never knew his father and lives with his mother who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. You have completed 12 therapeutic sessions with Arthur and he has shown improvement in the frequency and severity of his anxiety and depression. Insurance will no longer pay for additional sessions with you so you need to discharge him from your agency but Arthur can continue to participate with the support group you run for people with anxiety and poor social skills. 2. Gee - Youve been seeing Gee for the last 6 months for his obsessive thinking around jewelry his anger issues and controlling behavior. He has participated in the treatment group you run for mandated clients completing an anger management curriculum. Gee shows signs of having a personality disorder which is not a behavioral health issue that you specialize in working with. You want to refer him for further evaluation. 3. Ruthie - Ruthie has been attending a treatment group you facilitate for women struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorders. Ruthie was living alone out in the woods in a cottage before being arrested by police on suspicion of kidnapping after several of the village children disappeared near her home. Ruthie appears to have a fetish for candy-making and police reported that her home was literally covered over in candy on the inside and outside. She used candy to build her furniture and was reported to have hoarded candy in her home. Police suspect she used the candy to entice the children into her home but have not been able to prove their suspicion. Ruthie initially struggled to engage with the group but has improved in recent sessions. She has been able to identify her triggers and develop coping skills in managing her compulsions. You have concluded your work with her and need to terminate the therapeutic relationship.
