Project Summary: Guidelines for Writing Case Study for Make sure to review the rubric before writing the case study. When writing your paper please have the case study scenario then the questions. Number the questions 1 2 etc. Write the question and then the answer. PLEASE DO NOT WRITE THE PAPER WITHOUT THE QUESTIONS BEFORE THE ANSWER. If you do I will return the paper to you for correct formatting. 1. Do not use abbreviations without first defining them. For example “PTSD” should be written as follows: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). You may then use the abbreviate “PTSD” in your answers. TEXT MUST BE IN 12 FONT TIMES NEW ROMAN. 2. Make sure that you cite each answer with an in-text citation. Also when answering a question do not give your opinion. Each answer should be researched. If you write down that you would hold the patient’s hand…where is the literature that supports this? Remember this is not an opinion paper. 3. Each answer should stand on its own. Do not answer a question with a statement “Refer to answer 4 etc..” 4. Remember your references should be scholarly either textbooks or peer reviewed journals. You text book is an excellent resource as is your pharmacology textbook. For some answers you will have to use other sources. If you are using online references the ending of the website should be “.edu” or “.org”. Of note WEB MD and other sites are NOT acceptable as references. These online sites are for lay people not for medical professionals. If you use Web MD or a site that is for lay people points will be deducted for inappropriate references. 5. Do NOT assume that I know what you are talking about. The purpose of this case study is for you to learn so make sure that you are very clear in your writing. For example if “serotonin syndrome” is included in your answer make sure that you describe serotonin syndrome.
