Project Summary: Use the FluView platform https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/fluviewinteractive.htm and specifically the National Regional and State Level Outpatient Influenza-Like Illness and Viral Surveillance portal https://gis.cdc.gov/grasp/fluview/fluportaldashboard.html to investigate the epidemiological history of incidence through time of the different subtypes and species of influenza virus in the USA in the period starting in 2016 and ending before the COVID-19 pandemic. Contrast these patterns with the wider NY region (i.e. HHS region 2). Hint: focus on the histograms. I expect you to uncover an unexpected ecological event.
