Project Summary: For this assignment you will observe a task group occurring within your local community either in person or virtually. Examples of task groups that would be acceptable are as follows: School board meeting Social work licensure board meeting City council meeting Agency staff meeting Citizen oversight board for the police Election townhalls Chamber of commerce NASW state chapter meeting Homeowners association meeting Coalition meeting Social action groups Task force group Agency board meeting Identify a meeting to attend and seek permission from the facilitator(s). After you observe the meeting summarize the experience in a paper (500-750 words) including the following: Explain the mission/purpose of the group you observed. Explain how this task group differs from a treatment group. Explain the goal(s) for the task group. Explain the group dynamics observed. Describe any teambuilding exercises that were used. If no exercises were used recommend two that could create cohesion. Explain who was the leader and what leadership styles were observed. Reflect on the groups cohesion and how the group achieved its goals.
